About my textbook

This textbook is primarily aimed at “bridge” weather analysis and forecasting undergraduate courses that follow Introductory Meteorology courses, but precede upper-level calculus-based Dynamic and Synoptic Meteorology courses.  As such, it is primarily a qualitative text.  Students and professionals in weather-adjacent majors or fields such as aviation operations and emergency management are also a prime target audience.

The text is intended to cover a broad breadth of introductory weather analysis and forecasting concepts, tools, and techniques, from surface station plots and METARs to isobaric chart and sounding interpretation.  Anyone with introductory experience in meteorology should be able to grasp and apply the topics in the book.  Examples and practice exercises are included throughout!
